Cootie McKay’s Nativity – A family read-a-loud for Christmas (35 pages)

1956 was the year of the best Christmas our town ever had…it was also the year we almost didn’t have Christmas. But Cootie saved the day. Yes, sir, if it hadn’t been for the talent and vision of Cootie McKay, the folks in our little town would have been mighty disappointed…(you’ll have to buy the book to find out why)

Cootie McKay’s Nativity is Book One of the Familyman’s Christmas Treasury. As the father of seven children, I wanted Christmas stories that took longer than 5 minutes to read, didn’t confuse the truth with a tale, and above all, pointed my children to the Savior. I couldn’t find any, so I wrote my own. My hope is that Cootie McKay’s Nativity will give you gobs of snuggling time, Christmas enchantment, and will point your children to the manger year after year.

  1. Todd,

Late, I know, but I read Cootie McKay to my children today and they loved it and howled with laughter. We visit your booth at CHAP each year, and bought the book in May—I told my 14yod that was one book she couldn’t read; she had to wait for me to read it to them!

    Thanks for writing it!

  2. Todd,

Is this book appropriate for grown children?…my Home schooled 18 and 22 yr. old sons are my toughest audience…we always read a Christmas story but now is tough to find good material. I am also wondering about the Bethlehem game with the same criteria.
    thanks,
    Shawn

  3. This is the best Christmas story ever!! I think your kids will like the game as well. I’m not a gambling man, but I bet they love it.
    Thanks for asking,
Todd (not just trying to make a sale) Wilson

  4. Todd,
We just finished reading Cootie McKay as part of our school lessons and I cried like a baby. Best story I’ve read in a long time. Thank you, Thank you!!! I was so pleased that both of my older children, 12 and 8, loved it as much as I did. I can’t tell people enough about your books.
    Thanks,
    Tori
